For All Saints

Let us pray for the church in Arkansas. May God increase our faith.

Scripture 1

fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.   Hebrews 12:2

Tonight, we fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. We declare joy over the believers of NW Arkansas. We scorn the shame of our past and reach out for Jesus. We cry out to You, Jesus, to help us in our unbelief. We declare an increase of our faith.

Scripture 2

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up … Ephesians 4:11-12

Father God, thank You, that You took into account that we are all different. That You called us to different giftings and callings. Thank You that You don’t want us to be cookie-cutter. Help us to embrace our diversity of personality and our unity of the faith.

Scripture 3

13 …until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:13

We exalt You, Jesus, that we will reach unity in the faith. You have promised our growth and our maturity. You are a self-revealing God and You want us to know You. We declare publicly our continued pursuit of You. We renew our commitment to hunger and desire to know You. We shake off complacency and apathy.

Scripture 4

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10 and find out what pleases the Lord. Ephesians 5:8-10

We know that we are children of the Light, Your children, Father God. We are in You, and there is no shadow or darkness in You. Therefore, not in us, either.  We choose to live as Your children, turning from all darkness, knowing that Your mercy and grace redeem us daily.

Wake up, sleeper,
rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.

Scripture 5

15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Ephesians 5:14b-17

We call the Church of NW Arkansas to wake up! The time for sleeping is past! No more sleep. No more slumber. No more folding of the hands to rest.  The time has come for action in these evil days. Thank You, Father, that we can understand Your will. Reveal to us what we need to take action and bring heaven to earth today!

Scripture 6

Instead, be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:18b-20

This is our game plan! To be filled with the Holy Spirit! To speak to one another in songs from the Spirit with love and honor for each other. That the world may know we are Christians by our love. We draw a line in the sand and commit to walking without offense with each other. We renounce our habit of being offended.
