Praying for Parents of Students

Parenting in this culture is tough. Lets pray for parents, that they will raise up Godly children!

Scripture 1

He said to the Israelite’s, “In the future when your descendants ask their parents, ‘What do these stones mean?’  tell them, ‘Israel crossed the Jordan on dry ground.’  Joshua 4:21-22

Lord, we ask for the wisdom of parents to set holy monuments in our lives, where we display Your faithfulness to to our children.

Scripture 2

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.  Proverbs 22:6

Lord, please give us grace to teach our children Your ways and Your heart that no matter what evil comes to them they will be able to stand. We ask for their heart be sealed for Your goodness.

Scripture 3

Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children. Proverbs 17:6

Lord, we ask for a revelation of the wonder our children are and the rich gift they are from You. Give parents grace to take hold of their sacred responsibility and privilege to teach and admonish our children in Your truths and about Your goodness.

Scripture 4

The living, the living—they praise you, as I am doing today; parents tell their children about your faithfulness. Isaiah 38:19

Lord, we ask that parents will praise You in the midst of their children and teach them how to praise You. While we have breath, may we be bold to praise You wherever we go.

Scripture 5

And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”  Luke 1:17

Lord, give us grace to turn the hearts of parents to their children and the children to their parents. Grace! Grace! Holy Spirit transform our broken homes and awaken our hearts to Your love. Oh, please revive the homes in NW Arkansas to Your Glory!

Scripture 6

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I will say, rejoice!  Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;  and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:4-7

Lord, teach us as parents to set prayer as a high standard of dependence on You. Lord, may we walk in Your ways that peace may reign in the homes of NW Arkansas. Lord, we ask for the revelation of your peace guarding our hearts and that of our children.

Scripture 7

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8

Lord, show us parents how to lead out in setting an atmosphere of focusing on all Your Gloriousness. Give us grace to see, recognize and speak out loud of Your goodness in our homes. Revive homes in NW Arkansas with Your perspective.

Scripture 8

Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints,  do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers:  that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,  the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints  Ephesians 1:15-18

Lord, we ask for Your Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation to enter our homes and the homes in NW Arkansas. Lord, give us grace of the knowledge of the Fear of the Lord. May we see You high and lifted up and revere Your Holy Name.
