Prayers for Arkansas: Angel of Mercy

We will be praying into the symbols on the Arkansas Seal.

Angel of Mercy: “Righteousness of God” also known as “The Angel of the Lord.”

Scripture #1

“He said, ‘Surely they are my people, children who will be true to me;’ and so He became their Savior. In all their distress He too was distressed, and the Angel of His Presence saved them. In His love and mercy He redeemed them; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.” Isaiah 63:8-9

We declare: Arkansas, you are known as the Righteousness of God and we will call Jesus our Savior and no other. Lord God, You have seen us in all our sorrows and it also brought sorrow to You, so in Your love and mercy You will again redeem us and lift us up and carry us through all the days ahead, even from the days of Old.

Scripture #2

“This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. The Angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and rescues them. O taste and see that the Lord is good; how blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! Psalms 34:6-8

We declare: Arkansas, the Lord has heard our cries and He will save us from all our troubles. Lord, You have sent Your Angel of Mercy to watch over us because we fear You, so You will rescue us. We take refuge in You and we have tasted and seen that You are good.

Scripture #3

“No evil will befall you, nor will any plague come near your tent, for He will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, that you do not strike your foot against a stone…” Psalms 91:10-12

We declare: Arkansas, the Lord will give His angels charge over us and they will guard us in all our ways. Arkansas, the Lord will send His angels to hold you in their hands and the enemy will not harm you.

Scripture #4

“The Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from the midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, yet the bush was not consumed. So Moses said, ‘I must turn aside now and see this marvelous sight, why the bush is not burned up.’ When the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, ‘Moses, Moses!’ And he said, ‘Here I am.'” Exodus 3:2-6

We declare: Arkansas, it has been said that Arkansas has been seen as a burning bush on fire, but not consumed. Arkansas, you will turn to see this marvelous sight. You will be consumed but not burned, and when the Lord calls we will say “Here we are!”

Scripture #5

“Let those be ashamed and dishonored who seek my life; let those be turned back and humiliated who desire evil against me. Let them be like chaff before the wind, with the Angel of the Lord driving them on. Let their way be dark and slippery, with the Angel of the Lord pursuing them.” Psalms 35:4-6

We declare: Arkansas, any enemy who would seek to bring shame and dishonor to you, we say any who desire to bring evil into Arkansas will be humiliated and driven out. Holy Spirit, we thank You that You will blow the chaff from Arkansas and the Angel of the Lord will pursue them in their dark and slippery ways.
