OneChurch – The Vision of God
Without prophetic vision people run wild, but blessed are those who follow God’s teachings. Proverbs 29:18
I recently read a simple quote that grabbed my attention and has stayed with me for weeks. It said, “Complexity is the enemy of Execution.” As this quote has come to mind over and over I have been asking The Lord where and how I need to pursue simplicity in order to be productive. Over and over again the Holy Spirit directs me to the importance of vision. What is my vision for this season?
Am I moving towards that vision?
Are the things that I am applying daily effort to moving me in the desired direction? The really great thing about these questions is that they can apply to every area of my life – and yours. What’s your vision for your career? Your marriage, your parenting, your ministry, and most importantly- your walk with the Lord? Are the things that you are giving your time and energy to moving you in the direction you would like to be going?
At Joppa House we have a clear vision set before us that provides direction for the ministry that the Lord has entrusted to us.
Our vision: To see Northwest Arkansas impacted and visually affected by a prayer covering for citizens, churches, businesses and government leadership.
This is what we want to see happen. “Impacted and visually affected” means that we want to see the walls of division come down, the bonds of love and trust to grow, and the Body of Christ come together through prayer and worship. We are uniting the Body of Christ to call on God to “impact” and “visually affect” Northwest Arkansas. Unity is both pleasing to the Lord and it is something we, as believers, are called to pursue. How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! Psalm 133:11 Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, 3 being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. Ephesians 4:1-6
Unity is central to the vision of Joppa House, and it is with this vision before us that we are dreaming, planning and prayerfully moving forward with our next OneChurchNWA event! Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 3rd from 5-10pm, and join us at Lawrence Plaza in downtown Bentonville as we gather with local churches to worship together and pray over the people of Bentonville. Visit our website onechurchnwa.com for more information.
What’s the vision for this season of your life? I’m praying the Lord brings clarity and burdens your heart deeply for His will in your life.
