May we live a life honoring to God, that we may teach those around us to also love God and live for Him.
“For I have chosen him, that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice, so that the Lord may bring to Abraham what He has promised him.” Genesis 18:19
We receive the blessing of Abraham, the friend of God. We declare that we live by faith in the full knowledge it is counted toward us as righteousness. So that we may live long and prosperously, parenting the generations of the blessed of God. Father God, illuminate our eyes that we may see, know, and implement the healing power of the resurrection into our children.
“All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children.” Isaiah 54:13
Father we receive this promise as our own. We know that many children that we have or that will come will be not of our blood but of Yours. We count them all as blessed and receive them as gifts from You, precious in Your sight. May Love increase in us and them! We pray for the spirit of adoption to be loosed into us, our homes, and our churches. We pray for the humility to be teachable as You unfold Your mysteries reserved for this time and place.
“I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your Grandmother Lois and your Mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well.” 2 Timothy 1:5
Father, in Jesus’s Name, I pray that we are worthy to be parents and grandparents of the Timothys in our midst. Once again, open the eyes of our hearts to see these promised ones and raise them according to Your Word and by Your Spirit.
“But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.” 2 Timothy 3:14-15
Raise His children in God’s word that they will continue in what they have learned, that the things of faith and truth will have firmly taught them how to believe. May His children know the way of salvation for their lives and the lives of others around them. May they be swift in mercy and slow to judge, may they be long in patience and quick to forgive!
