Advent Peace

The Lord is for us, whom shall we fear?

Scripture 1

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face to shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-25

Lord, bless us and keep us, turn toward us and let You face shine on us. Be gracious toward us and give us peace.

Scripture 2

I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33

Trouble is in the world, but you have given us Your peace. We can be strong in our heart, knowing You have overcome the world.

Scripture 3

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27

Why do we let fear trouble our hearts? You have given us reconciliation. We can rest in Your peace.

Scripture 4

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Colossians 3:15

We have been reconciled in Christ, let that reign in our hearts. We are one body called to peace with the members of the body. We rejoice, because we have been given the peace of God.

Scripture 5

But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.   James 3:17

We pray to receive the wisdom from heaven, because it is pure, full of peace and love, kind, full of mercy; in it are all the fruits of Your Spirit. It is impartial, but always sincere.
