Christ, through His sinless life and perfect sacrifice on the cross, has modeled true love for us. May we, by His grace, love God and love others.
Sing, O heavens! Be joyful, O earth! And break out in singing, O mountains! For the Lord has comforted His people, and will have mercy on His afflicted. Isaiah 49:13
You have loved us with a great love, You have caused the heavens and the earth to rejoice because of the comfort You have given us and the mercy You have shown us.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved John 3:16-17
In Your great love for the world, You sent Jesus, Your only Son, that through Him we would find salvation and everlasting life. Jesus came that the world would be saved through Him and that the world would not be condemned.
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7
Because You have poured Your love in our hearts through Christ Jesus, we are to love others so that people will know that we are born of You.
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. 1 John 3:16, 18
Christ laid down His life that we would know what true love is. May we learn to not only talk words of love, but may we walk out love in a manner worthy of Christ.
Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” This is the first commandment. And the second is like it; “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Matt. 22:37-39
Through Christ we were given two commandments: to love God and to love our neighbor. Lord, may we walk in these completely, that we would truly honor You.
