Advent Joy

Christ has saved us! What joy!

Scripture 1

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

It is with great joy that we have received the Child, Christ Jesus; He is Wonderful, our Counselor, He is a Mighty God and an Everlasting Father; He is our Prince of Peace and in Him we find great joy.

Scripture 2

Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign; Behold the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14

The Lord has given us a wonderful sign: He has given us His Son. His name is Immanuel: God with us. May our hearts be filled with joy at the wonder of His name.

Scripture 3

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

What hope we have that fills us with all joy and peace as we trust in God. May we overflow by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Scripture 4

And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive that your joy may be full. John 16:23-24

Our joy will be made full, knowing that whatever we ask the Father in Jesus name, we shall have. It is the Father’s good pleasure that we would have the fullness of joy.

Scripture 5

I was glad when they said to me, “let us go into the house of the Lord.” Psalm 122:1

What gladness and joy knowing we can enter God’s gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise! He has opened His house to us.

Scripture 6

Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1:8-9

We believe by faith that Jesus is Lord. We can be filled with great and glorious joy, knowing that our end result is the salvation of our souls.
